SelectraceBETA

Select. Trace. Decide.

Pick the right vendor. And prove why.

Selectrace is where your team compares vendors and technology products (ALM, PLM, ERP…): you define criteria and weights, everyone enters their own scores, and the final choice becomes an immutable decision record, exportable to PDF.

It's not a spreadsheet or a project tracker: it's built for decisions someone will ask you to justify (ISO 26262, ASPICE, internal audits), with locked weights, blind scoring and a tamper-proof audit trail.

Example of a weighted scorecard in Selectrace, with fictional data

From weighted criteria to a signed-off decision, in six screens (fictional data).

Score every criterion. Each evaluator rates every product from 1 to 5, criterion by criterion, with a comment explaining the score.

Score every criterion

Each evaluator rates every product from 1 to 5, criterion by criterion, with a comment explaining the score.

The method in three words

  1. Select.

Define criteria and weights by category, add up to 10 candidates and let the team evaluate them in parallel.

  2. Trace.

Every score, weight and status change is recorded: who, what, when. An audit trail that can't be altered.

  3. Decide.

A clear weighted ranking and, when the team decides, a frozen decision record with the approval signature.

From the shared spreadsheet to a defensible decision

Without Selectrace

  • Weights changed halfway through the evaluation, without anyone noticing.
  • Five versions of the same file and no certainty about which one is right.
  • At audit time, nobody can reconstruct who decided what, and why.

With Selectrace

  • Weights lock when scoring starts: every change must be confirmed and stays traced.
  • One shared project, with assignments, deadlines and progress per evaluator.
  • An immutable decision record, with date, approver and rationale, exportable to PDF.

The whole selection process, in one place

From the first requirements meeting to the document you take to the audit, with no side tools.

  • Criteria and weights per project

Custom categories, weights validated to 100% and templates reusable across projects.

  • Team scoring

Several evaluators on the same project, with assignments, deadlines and reminders.

  • Blind scoring

Each evaluator scores without seeing the others; then Selectrace highlights the divergences to reconcile.

  • Real-time collaboration

Colleagues' scores appear as you work, and you see who is evaluating right now.

  • Comparative summary

Overall and per-category weighted score, product ranking and PDF export.

  • Immutable decision record

A snapshot of criteria, weights, scores and risks at decision time, with tracked approval.

  • Explicit workflow

Setup → In evaluation → In review → Decided → Archived, with no illogical jumps.

  • Complete audit trail

Who changed what and when, on criteria, scores, members and decisions. Append-only, never editable.

How weighted scoring works

  1. 1

Define the criteria, grouped by category, and give each one a weight: applicable weights add up to 100%.

  2. 2

Evaluators score each product from 1 to 5 on every criterion.

  3. 3

Selectrace computes the weighted score (1–5 scale and percentage), overall and by category, and builds the ranking.

  4. 4

When the team decides, the system freezes everything in a decision record exportable to PDF.

Select. Trace. Decide.
